Safe Shopping at CastleCourt

Posted on 3rd September 2020

We are thrilled to welcome all staff and customers back to CastleCourt shopping centre. In these changing times, we want to assure our customers that we have taken measures to make your visit here as safe as possible. When shopping at with us, you will note that we have made some changes to the way we operate within the centre. The health and well‐being of our customers and staff continues to be our top priority, and we have implemented these new safety measures for your protection.

Centre Access

Entry and Exit points to the shopping centre have changed. As each of our doorways present two access points, we will be operating a ‘one door for entry / one door for exit’ system. These entry and exit points will be clearly marked and guided by staff.
Upon entry to the centre, a one-way system will be visible via the floor arrows.

Washing your hands / Hand Sanitising Facilities

Upon arrival, you will note that hand sanitising stations are available for your convenience. These are located at:

  • The Royal Avenue entrance
  • The Berry Street entrance
  • The West Street entrance
  • The car park – mall entrance (located on the second floor)

Please rest assured that we have taken great care when choosing hand sanitiser for our customers, and that we have installed a biocidal sanitising liquid, approved by the World Health Organisation. Hand washing facilities are also available at the public toilets on our second floor, which are also regularly sanitised on a continuous schedule by our cleaning team.

Face Coverings Are Mandatory

As well as implementing these social distancing measures, we encourage all customers to wear a face mask when entering the centre. Please note that face coverings are not a replacement for social distancing and regular hand washing.

We understand and respect that there are a number of reasonable excuses for not wearing a face covering, which are listed here on the nidirect website.

Safe Shopping Instore

All retailers have installed protective screens on cash registers, social distancing dots for queuing outside stores, and are currently encouraging cashless payments. (Some retailers can accept cash – please enquire with stores individually).

In our Food Court we have also reduced the seating and closed the secondary toilets to manage social distancing in this area. Please be assured, should you need to use the toilet facilities, you can still access the large public toilets on our second floor beside Superdrug. In addition, we have introduced an enhanced cleaning regime across the centre, with regular sanitation of all customer touch points.

We thank you for your patience during this time, and politely ask that you will wear a face covering unless exempt, and respect the social distancing markers which we have displayed throughout the mall. Should you have any queries, please contact our customer relations team via

Centre Management.
