My Mask Protects You – Your Mask Protects Me.
Beginning 10th August 2020, face coverings in shops and shopping centres will be mandatory. CastleCourt management politely asks all customers to respect this rule, and join us in controlling the spread of coronavirus.
You do not have to wear a face covering if:
- You are under the age of 13.
- You have a reasonable excuse not to.
(Please note, there are a number of reasonable excuses for not wearing a face covering. These are listed on the nidirect website: https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/coronavirus-covid-19-face-coverings )
An employee of a store / shopping centre can request that you wear a face covering, and can ask you to leave the shop or shopping centre if you refuse to wear one and do not have a reasonable excuse not to.
If you have a condition which means you cannot wear a face covering you only need to say, if asked, that you cannot wear a face covering because you are ‘exempt’. It is important that we all respect one another and remember that the reasons for not wearing a face covering may not always be visible.
Please note that face coverings are not a replacement for social distancing and regular hand washing. CastleCourt Shopping Centre continue to provide hand sanitiser at all entrances, and hand washing facilities as normal at our public toilets.
You can remove your mask to eat and drink (such as in the food court) but when finished, you should still commit to social distancing rules, wash your hands for 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser, and then put your mask back on.
At CastleCourt we continue to thoroughly sanitise all areas of the shopping centre to ensure your safety, and hope to see all customers participating responsibly in the face covering rule.Should you have any queries, please contact our customer relations team via firstname.lastname@example.org.
